Yamaha Has Not Been Willing To Extend The Contract Of Rossi

Barcelona, MotoGP News - Yamaha Movistar MotoGP team Boss, Lin Jarvis has not been willing to think through the contract extension with Valentino Rossi until a couple of months in the future.

The contract that exists between Yamaha and Rossi now will run out at the end of next season.

But Jarvis did not cover the possibility of Yamaha will be back soon with a new contract binding on Rossi.

"No, because we have a two-year contract," said Jarvis AutoSport when interviewed, whether he has already started talks with the new contract related Rossi?.

"Last year we did it in Qatar, which at the beginning of the previous season, such as it is. Now we are a little more than half a year of entering the contract two seasons.

I don't think Rossi will contract deal as fast as last year, "stated Jarvis.

"I think the new contract will take place at Mugello the next year, we will know whether Rossi want to extend his contract or not," chimes in Jarvis.

Rossi had previously explained that he was open to signed a new contract to 2019 and beyond if he remains competitive.

If it does, then the new two-year contract that will keep him afloat until the age of forties.

"When I signed my current contract, I think this might be the last," said Rossi told MotoGP.com last June.

"But I'm not sure, depends on the outcome of racing, I will break the chain in the next season, possibly at the beginning of next season, but if I'm still competitive and capable of winning, I want to remain in MotoGP," Rossi please.
