This Year For The First Time MotoGP Assen Takes Place Sunday
Assen, MotoGP News - Assen Circuit is already referred to as the Cathedral of the world racing motorcycle.
First established in 1949, throughout history, the race at Assen is always held on a Saturday, but this year for the first time Assen will hold the races on Sunday.
Before Assen became the only racing series held on Saturday, in contrast to other circuits which showcases race on Sunday. Last year was the last season the MotoGP roll out of Assen on Saturday.
Assen this weekend will become the eighth series of the 2016 season, Marc Marquez came as the provisional standings, followed by Star Movistar Yamaha, Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi.
Circuit Manager hope with this change there will be a surge of spectators along the three-day weekend, starting Friday when the first free practice up to Race Day on Sunday.
